I've decided to tackle my big Forgotten Realms fan fiction project in a bit different way than I had originally intended. If anyone is familiar with the Sembia: Gateway to the Realms series, it begins with several short stories about the main characters within the series, followed by books that focus on each character, the most notable being Erevis Cale. I've decided to begin in a similar fashion. Prior to the first story of what I've termed the Darksong Chronicles, I'm going to write a few short stories about the big players within the series. And so it begins, as I state in the title of this post. As I write this, I've begun work on the first in a series of short stories that I'm collectively calling "The Darksong Chronicles: Blood and Silver". Things will kick off with a story involving a rather important character, Amaranth Selunel (admittedly inspired by a powerful NPC in my first D&D campaign way back when. It made a huge impression on me). So look forward to it! I hope to have it posted in the next few weeks.

Woot! So it's been a while, I know. But bear with me here. Things have been hectic with work, with home life, and everything else. So yeah, I haven't put as much work into my novel and writings as I might like. But...and here's where it gets good...I'm back, and I plan on starting to churn out some new stuff very, very soon. I'll be working on my book, of course, but before I post any of that you may see a short story I've been considering for a bit now. We'll see. Also, I have some nifty ideas for game design...yes, I'll be trying to bust into the realm of RPG design! Cross your fingers!

Well, my computer broke...feh. So, for at least the next week it's away for repairs, and I'm only able to access the internet because I can use my father's laptop. I lost everything I'd typed up, so far, though fortunately I have the hard copies of everything. And since I posted everything I'd typed here it's all saved, and I just need to recopy it and fix a bit of formatting. Anyway, I'll be posting the first bits of the chapter 1 redo soon, so look forward to it!

Finally! So, I've been working with classes and stuff, lately. But, loathe to leave everyone here in the dark, I cranked out something new. I did a new prologue, set in the present this time, and have gone back to work on the first chapter. Rest assured, things will eventually happen like I started them in the first version of chapter 1, but those events will take place several chapters later. I'll have the new first chapter up soon, so stay tuned!

okay, so here's the deal. Heh. I've been in a bit of a slump lately...nothing has seemed all that good to me, but I'm aware that that's like just me. Still, I'm going to work hard to try and get something done and post it here.

In other news...*drumrolls* My parents had an amazing idea, in my opinion...an e-zine that would feature sci-fi and fantasy short stories and art, among other things. No set date on when we'll see this yet, but I'll post the information on it when/if it's up and running. And look forward to seeing short stories from me in it!
