For generations, the Shadows Fang had stood in deathly silence, a jagged peak of basalt that was devoid of life and color. It rose like a black dagger against the sky, dominating the small island it stood upon, amidst a wide channel that split the blighted land to either side of it. Legend said that it had once stood amid a great city of shadow, destroyed and flooded by divine wrath. Springtide Part 2Fire, pain, and darkness consumed everything. It was alive, a writhing abyss that tore at him as he fell, deeper and deeper. Why he was falling he could no longer even recall, and even the simplest memory slipped through his grasp like drops of water. Flashes of hazy, muddled events floated before his eyes, but they were jumbled and chaotic. One of the tendrils lashed out, trying to grab him, but he fell too fast, the shadowy length nicking him instead. Pain seared through his body, and for a split second he saw the image of an elven male that stirred a faint familiarity in the back of his mind, a sword cutting the male shallowly.Springtide Part 2


Chapter 1: Springtide Pt. 1The creaking of cart wheels and clop of hooves on the old dirt road mingled with the sweet sound of birdsong, and of wind rustling through the trees. It was the music of nature, of life, and as always it made Riana smile. Seated at the front of a simple wooden cart, the reins clutched in a slender hand, the young elven woman couldnt help but appreciate her surroundings. In the back of the cart were various goods, casks of wine and ale, barrels of salted fish and a few crates of cured meat, all of them the finest that money could buy. The canyons black walls seemed to press inward, making the pass seem narrower than it truly was. In the sky above, dark clouds roiled in a blood red sky, lightning streaking down to crack amongst the jagged basalt spires that surrounded the pass, the thunder almost a horrific shriek that was enough to send a chill down the spine of even the most hardened warrior. Grimly, Ilarien Vindel surveyed the floor of the canyon, crouched on a rocky outcropping and wrapped in a dark cloak that helped him blend into the long, unnatural shadows that stretched across that tainted place, the evil that inhabited it permeatin
